MAJA Y BASTARDA è una danza bastarda: appropria tradizioni per renderle poco serie, poco sobrie, poco pure. Laila Tafur mette in scena una folkloristica Frankenstein che intreccia flamenco, danza contemporanea e immaginari popolari.
Dal tablao al teatro, dalla grotta al cabaret, dal mercato alla passerella, la sua “mil leches” tesse una zambra-collage che diventa spazio di resistenza e di invenzione.
Una pratica che interroga identità ibride, il confine tra tradizione e sperimentazione, e la possibilità di un corpo che custodisce memorie, leggende e pettegolezzi, trasformandoli in linguaggio vivo.
Una performance di danza radicale, che invita a pensare il folklore come materia in continua metamorfosi.

MAJA Y BASTARDA is a bastard dance: it appropriates traditions to make them unserious, unsober, impure. Laila Tafur stages a folkloric Frankenstein blending flamenco, contemporary dance and popular imagery.
From tablao to theatre, cave to cabaret, flea market to runway, her “mil leches” weaves a collage-like zambra that becomes a space for resistance and invention. A practice that questions hybrid identities, the border between tradition and experimentation, and the body as an archive of memories, legends and gossip, transformed into living language.
A radical dance performance that reimagines folklore as material in constant metamorphosis.
