"Manual Focus" è un lavoro iconico della coreografa danese Mette Ingvartsen, che trasforma i corpi in organismi ibridi e sfuggenti. Volti capovolti, arti invertiti, maschere che cancellano identità: tre donne nude diventano un corpo a dodici gambe, sospeso tra animale, umano e creatura senza nome. Non è il mostro in sé, ma la relazione tra nudo/mascherato, artificiale/reale, maschile/femminile a generare uno sguardo inquieto e straniante sul corpo che pensiamo di conoscere.
Presentato in prima mondiale nel 2003 al Mousonturm di Francoforte, "Manual Focus" resta una pietra miliare della ricerca sul confine tra danza, metamorfosi e immaginario mostruoso.

"Manual Focus" is an iconic work by Danish choreographer Mette Ingvartsen, where bodies transform into hybrid, elusive organisms. Faces turn backward, limbs twist upside down, masks erase identities: three nude women merge into a twelve-legged creature, suspended between animal, human, and the unnamed. It is not the monster itself, but the tension between nude/masked, artificial/real, male/female that generates an unsettling gaze upon the body we think we know.
Premiered in 2003 at Mousonturm Frankfurt, Manual Focus remains a milestone in exploring dance, metamorphosis, and the monstrous imaginary."
