C’è un modo per far coincidere memoria e innovazione, una maniera per trovare nella fine di un presente lo slancio verso possibili futuri e volerli tutti, come cantavano i Queen: «I want it all!». L’opening della trentasettesima edizione del Romaeuropa Festival è un invito a immaginare il domani. Selezionando 11 finali dalle loro circa 60 creazioni presentate tra il 1995 e il 2020, il duo italo-olandese, premiato con il golden Swan – la massima onorificenza per la danza in Olanda – costruisce un percorso coreografico esplosivo in cui si mescolano atmosfere rock e pop, virtuosismo e classicità, corpi in rivolta e musiche iconiche di Bach, dei Queen, di Marylin Manson e altri ancora. Un evento/manifesto danzato dall’ICK Dans Amsterdam, la celebre compagnia da loro fondata, ma attraversato anche dagli interpreti della compagnia junior ICK-Next per aprirsi a nuovi tempi, trovare nuove prospettive, vedere nella fine il preludio ad un nuovo inizio. «Il futuro è tornato!»

There is a way to make memory and innovation coincide; a way to find, at the edge of the present, a momentum towards possible futures and to covet them all- just as Queen sang: «I want it all!». The opening of the 37th edition of the Romaeuropa Festival is an invitation to imagine what tomorrow could be like. Selecting 11 finalists from approximately 60 creations presented between 1995 and 2020, the Italian-Dutch duo of Emio Greco and Pieter C. Sholten (recipients of the golden Swan – the highest honour for dance in the Netherlands), build an explosive choreographic narrative. It combines rock and pop ambiances, virtuosity, classicism and bodies in revolt, to the accompaniment of iconic music by Bach, Queen, Marylin Manson and others. An event / manifesto performed by ICK Dans Amsterdam-the famous company they founded- joined by performers from the junior company ICK-Next, here to acknowledge the times we live in, to explore new perspectives and to discover, in the end, the prelude to a new beginning: “The future is back!”
