Approfittiamo felicemente di una breve permanenza a Roma del direttore e della coordinatrice della casa editrice, Mauro D'Agati e Kateryna Filyuk, per dedicare un pomeriggio alle loro pubblicazioni e alla possibilità di un confronto diretto con questo vulcanico fotografo ed editore e con alcuni autrici e autori delle sue più recenti pubblicazioni.
Oltre a Mauro, in libreria con noi, Pierluigi Ciambra, Veronica Barbato e dalle 18 Pasquale Autiero.
89books è una casa editrice indipendente con sede a Palermo, fondata nel 2018 dal fotografo Mauro D’Agati e dalla curatrice Kateryna Filyuk. 89books si concentra sulla realizzazione di foto libri e promuove residenze a Palermo con fotografi e artisti interessati a creare un libro di qualità. 89books è impegnata nella scoperta e nella pubblicazione sperimentale di foto libri, con diverse forme e contenuti. 89books, come piccolo editore indipendente, trae un vantaggio dalla sua posizione geografica, nel cuore della Sicilia, crocevia del Mediterraneo, e ha tra i suoi scopi quello di arricchire il contesto culturale e di condividere lo stesso con fotografi e artisti stranieri.

An afternoon with 89books
We happily take advantage of a short stay in Rome of the editor and coordinator of the publishing house, Mauro D’Agati and Kateryna Filyuk, to devote an afternoon to their publications and the possibility of a direct chat&talk with this volcanic photographer and publisher and some of the authors of his most recent publications.
In addition to Mauro, in the bookstore with us are Pierluigi Ciambra, Veronica Barbato and from 6 pm Pasquale Autiero.
89books is an independent publishing house based in Palermo, Sicily.
Established in 2018 by photographer Mauro D’Agati and curator Kateryna Filyuk, it specialises in photo-books and artist books. 89booksis committed to the discovery and experimental publication of limited edition photo-books of different forms and contents. Some of the books will be presented in a first edition of 89 copies, except for artist books that could be produced as a collector’s piece or publications printed in offset.
By combining the expertise of the team and its network of collaborators, which feature local printers, binders and artisans,89booksaims to assist and promote the production of artists who use photography as their main medium and strive to compile a unique publication.
89books draws its inspiration from travels, accidental encounters and thought-provoking dialogs with peers and is largerly driven by contingency, curiosity and passion.
